Curtain opens on 'Hawks exhibition season

The Kansas Jayhawks defeated Division II Emporia State at Allen Fieldhouse, 115-70. Giddens came off the bench for the 'Hawks to score 10 points in a 96-second strech. Freshman guard, Russel Robinson saw his first minutes on the court of Allen Fieldhouse and finished the half with a pair of free throws to give the 'Hawks a 61-28 advantage after the first half. KU had five players score in double figures. Simien recored a double-double and Miles had a game high 12 assists. The team welcomes Washburn, in its final exhibition game, on Sunday Nov. 14th.

Coach Self was impressed with his squad's offensive producion, but knows there is room for improvement.



Sophomore guard, J.R. Giddens didn't miss a step, despite starting the game on the bench. Giddens led all scores with 22 points, only seeing 16 minutes of action.
